How to create your Custom Content briefs
Step 1
Start the brief with some basic information
Our easy step-by- step guide on how to create your Custom Content brief. Walking through each section in detail, this guide explains what our community needs to know to create the best content possible for your brand.
Think about the end goal of your brief and what message you’re trying to communicate with the content. See the example provided for a description that works well.

Things to avoid
Let us know anything that should be avoided in the shots. For example – avoid models looking at cameras, no night shots, no lens flare, no cell phones, avoid alcohol in the frame. This is important for our creators to understand what is on-brief and what is not.
This is the main section of the brief – what are the requirements and what should be avoided?
Add visual examples
Review the full brief on one page, edit and submit
Here you can make edits in any sections. You can save as a draft, export as a PDF to review offline with your team or come back later and submit.
Once you submit, that’s it! If we have everything we need, we’ll get this out to our community within 5 business days. Our creative team may also reach out if we have any questions about your requirements.
You will receive a notification when your brief is accepted into production.
After that, you can relax while we get to work! Your exclusive content will be created, edited, inspected and curated for you. You will receive a notification when your visuals are ready to review (in approximately 4 weeks).

Sharing examples is important to illustrate your content style and what visuals you would consider on-brief.

Region
For maximum results, choose global. With this option, you can specify the type of locations in your key requirements in Step 3. For example, a beach setting could be any beach, but not necessarily a beach in Thailand. A location that can pass as United States, which will help avoid European settings, etc.
If the content must be shot somewhere specific, let us know. We will confirm if we can source creators in that location.
Technical specs
Expect the same quality of content you can find on our stock site. Use this space to highlight your technical preferences and anything important you’d like to note from your brand’s visual guidelines. You can make specific requests for orientation, lighting, lens flare, depth of field, or other technical aspects. For video, include frame rate, resolution, time-lapse, etc.
Key requirements
Provide the direction for our creators on what to shoot.
What content and mood do you want captured?
What are your style requirements?
Suggested settings, scenarios and activities
Provide details on the What, the When and the Where of content. Can it work indoors or outdoors, daytime or nighttime? Include examples of activities and moments you want to see captured in the shots. Our creators will then interpret these based on the settings and models they have access to. Note, this is not intended as a shot list – rather a direction to indicate what kind of moments work to portray the theme of your brief.

Step 2
People
If you don’t need people, choose no and move on.
If you need people, add your requirements: age range, genders, ethnicities, relationships (parent/child, student/teachers, etc). We recommended focusing on 1 key demographic per brief.

Before you begin, take a moment to think about the Who, the What and the Where of the story you wish to capture. A single brief will usually focus on one key element for each 'W'. Click here to see an example.
PRO TIP:
Save time by duplicating a brief you've submitted previously (+new brief and click 'copy from existing'), allowing you to make adjustments without having to rewrite all sections.
